Rick Kent is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since September 2016. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with New York State, and has 12 years of experience in the mental health field. He has served as a social worker at Central New York Psychiatric Center’s satellite unit at Attica Correctional Facility and provided primary therapy to inmates in the Intermediate Care Program. He also served as the program manager for a transitional residence on the campus of the Rochester Psychiatric Center (RPC).
Currently, he is serving as a Social Work Supervisor and supervises the clinical practice of approximately 25 outpatient, mobile crisis, and family care social workers in RPC’s Community Services Unit. Rick previously taught online courses for Empire State College and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Roberts Wesleyan College. Most recently he has begun teaching and coaching Motivational Interviewing skills to groups and individuals.
